Former Take That member and solo superstar Robbie Williams is the latest celebrity to get their very own four-part Netflix docuseries.

With a music career spanning over 30 years, he's certainly had his share of ups and downs and the new series promises to delve into them all with no holds barred.

With Williams' involvement and 'hundreds of hours of intimate, never-before-seen personal archive', the documentary will aim to paint a definitive portrait of an unlikely megastar from Stoke-on-Trent near Manchester.

The newly released trailer features footage from throughout his career, with Williams' reflecting on some of his personal struggles, which have included a well-publicised battle with drug addiction, alcoholism and depression towards the end of his time with Take That.

In the new clip,Williams, now 49, reflects on becoming the Harry Styles-esque breakout star of Take That, having joined the group as just 16 years of age.

"It was insane," he says, smiling at old footage of the British boyband and the early days of his chart-topping solo career. "I was the centre of the pop culture world."

We hear Jonathan Ross introduce him on TV as "one of the world's greatest showmen" as legions of fans scream in stadium concert footage in the 2000s before he discusses "having a nervous, mental breakdown in front of thousands of people" during his biggest low point.

Speaking with a newfound understanding of his own character, he says: "The thing that would destroy me has also made me successful. Touch the fire, push when it says pull, and see if I can live."

We also see Williams interacting with his kids and wife, US actress Ayda Field, who are sure to play a pivotal role in the forthcoming documentary.

The new docuseries is directed by Joe Pearlman, responsible for the likes of Bros: After The Screaming Stops, Mo Farah: No Easy Mile and Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now.

It's produced by iconic filmmaker Ridley Scott's company, Ridley Scott Associates, and executive produced by Amy and Senna director Asif Kapadia.

Robbie Williams will be released on Netflix globally on Wednesday, November 8.
